1. Do not use oven self clean EVER.. the older the oven the more problems we see with self clean and you don’t want to be without an oven on thanksgiving day. If you have steam clean option that works at lower temperatures and will be just fine.
2. Do not leave the oven door open to cool down after cooking. heat rises and will cause excessive heat in the control board area and could cause damage.
3. Let the oven have plenty of time to preheat. Most modern ovens have hidden bake elements that need more time to get the cavity thoroughly preheated especially for short term baking like cookies, bisque’s etc.,
